International Accreditation

What is EQUIS?
EQUIS (the European Quality Improvement System) is the accrediting body of the European Federation for Management Development (EFMD) and the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration.

The fundamental objective of EQUIS is to raise the standard of management education worldwide. Accredited institutions must demonstrate quality in all dimensions of their activities, from research, education programs, support services, internationalization and corporate connections through to the school’s mission and corporate governance. The prestigious EQUIS quality assurance mark is awarded only after a rigorous Peer Review process, in which a team of senior members of leading business schools carefully evaluate all factors related to the operation of the School.

What does EQUIS accreditation mean to Ivey?
Ivey first received accreditation in 2002. The re-accreditation process undertaken in 2007 provided an opportunity to benchmark the School’s strategies and processes against a global set of leading schools in business education. With glowing praise from the Awarding Council in June 2007, Ivey was granted reaccreditation for a five year period (2007 – 2012), confirming that the School’s Cross-Enterprise Leadership strategy and programs meet or exceed international standards of quality.
