Roderick
E. White is currently Associate Dean, Faculty Development
and Research, and an Associate Professor of
General Management at Richard Ivey School of Business. Since
joining the school in 1979, he has taught Business Policy and
Strategic Management at the undergraduate, masters and doctoral
levels. He was a visiting professor at INSEAD during 1996. White
earned a BA in Honors Business from The University of Western
Ontario, and an MBA and DBA from Harvard University.
His research interests include the functioning of top management
teams, questions of business strategy-organization and the
strategic management of foreign-owned subsidiaries. Currently,
he is exploring how groups of managers in an organizational
setting learn, or fail to learn, and how this process
contributes to organizational excellence and strategic renewal.
He has consulted for numerous organizations, including SaskOil,
London Teaching Hospitals Council, Ernst & Young, Sandvik AB:
Saws & Tools Group and the Bank of Montreal. He has served a
director of Sandvik Canada, Inc and on the editorial board of
the Strategic Management Journal.
