Brian S. Anderson is an Assistant Professor in the Entrepreneurship Group at Ivey. Dr. Anderson comes to UWO from Indiana University, where he was a Visiting Assistant Professor and where he completed his doctoral studies in strategic management and entrepreneurship. Dr. Anderson's research interests lie at the intersection of strategy and entrepreneurship: How do we identify entrepreneurial firms; how do firms sustain an entrepreneurial strategic posture; and what are the contributors to, and consequences of, pursuing entrepreneurial strategies? His research on these topics has appeared in Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and the Proceedings of the Academy of Management.
Prior to pursuing a career in academia, Dr. Anderson was also an entrepreneur, either founding or serving in a senior leadership position for a half-dozen startups, primarily in the technology and electronic commerce spaces. He also served in government, handling communications and legislative affairs for the Colorado State Treasurer. In addition to his academic pursuits, Lieutenant Anderson is a Supply Corps officer in the United States Navy Reserve, where he specializes in expeditionary logistics. He received his undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Colorado, and a masters degree in strategic management from the University of Denver.
