Profile

Brian Kelleher Richter joined the Business Economics and Public Policy group at Ivey in July 2010 after completing his Ph.D. in Global Economics and Management at the UCLA Anderson School where he also earned an M.A. in Economics. He completed his S.B. in Management Science (Finance) at MIT's Sloan School of Management and his M.P.I.A. in Asian Markets & Economies at UCSD's Graduate School of International Relations & Pacific Studies.

Richter's research focuses on firms' interactions with governments and other non-market actors, on the institutional settings in which firms operate, and on firm-level international financial and economic linkages. His interdisciplinary interests span fields including political economy, strategy (particularly non-market & international), finance (particularly corporate & international), political science, law, international/development economics, applied microeconomics, and industrial organization.

 

Outside academia, Richter has worked internationally in both the public and private sectors, including time with the Federal Reserve (in Washington and San Francisco), the Central Intelligence Agency (in Langley), Nomura Securities (in New York), and Sanwa Bank (in Tokyo).
