Michael is a Lecturer at the Pierre L. Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship at the Richard Ivey School of Business. He is also an active and experienced business professional with 35 years of management experience including 9 years of marketing management with Procter & Gamble and 26 years as President of 7 successful businesses. The businesses he has led have resulted in the creation of more than 1,600 net new jobs and more than $25 million in returns to shareholders. They have also taken Michael on assignments around the globe including the United States, Europe, India, and Brazil. In addition to his work with Ivey Michael is currently President of healthcare startup Cogniciti, President of management consulting firm Marketing Initiatives, Mentor for the Marketing Hall of Legends, and Chairman for the World Presidents Organization (WPO) Ontario Chapter.
His past work has included Executive Editor of The Canadian Green Marketing Handbook; the Executive Director and Founder of The Earth Angels Environmental Education Program; President of firms that won Profit magazine's 16th fastest Canadian company and Arthur Andersen's 50 Best Managed Companies in Canada awards; Campaign Manager for the Conservative Party of Canada's successful bid for the federal seat in London West; Chapter Chair and Education Chair of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) Toronto Chapter; Education Chair, Vice-Chair and Forum Chair of the WPO Ontario Chapter; and Day Chair of more than 20 President-to-President education programs including two Best-In-The-World and 5 Best-In-Canada award winners.
