Ivey HBA Scholarships and Awards
All students who apply through their Ivey HBA application will be considered for almost a million dollars in Ivey Scholarships and Awards. Please be sure to complete the Financial Aid section on the online Ivey HBA application. The recipient selection is extremely competitive due to the high caliber of students admitted to the Ivey HBA Program. While strong grades are important, we also consider leadership skills as demonstrated through extracurricular activities.
To view a listing of available Ivey Scholarships and Awards, please refer to Western University’s Award Listing. Search by faculty, Ivey School of Business.
Scholarship recipients are selected based on overall academic merit and/or leadership.
Award recipients are selected based on both merit and financial need. Financial need is assessed through the Western Bursary Application.
Most candidates who have been selected to receive an award will receive notification in their official HBA Admission Offer package. All awards are applied directly to the student's tuition account and are valid for as long as the student is registered full-time in the HBA Program.
Bursary Assistance for Ivey HBA Students
Bursaries are non-repayable grants based purely on financial need. Bursaries come from a special set-aside fund provided by Ivey. HBA students who are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents can apply for bursary assistance through Western in both HBA1 and HBA2. The bursary application takes into consideration the actual tuition costs of the HBA Program. Approximately 30% of students who are ineligible for student government loans such as OSAP or BCSAP are eligible for bursaries.
Ivey provided $1.7 million in bursary assistance last year to students with financial need, with an average bursary amount of $5,400.
These bursaries are all administered by Western's Registrar's Office.External Scholarships
Ivey HBA students have "top of the class" academic records from more than 20 different academic programs. In addition, Ivey HBA's have demonstrated leadership in extracurricular activities, through inspiring commitments to their communities, exceptional communication abilities, and impressive international experiences.
This combination of academic achievement and a strong extracurricular profile makes applicants to the Ivey HBA Program very competitive for all sorts of external scholarship opportunities.
We encourage all students to check www.studentawards.com, www.iefa.org and www.ScholarshipsCanada.com. These sites list numerous awards and one of them may be just right for you. The Ivey Financial Aid office will communicate external scholarship opportunities to current Ivey AEO and HBA students primarily through the AEO and HBA student association newsletters.

Repayment begins six months after you have completed your studies. For more information about student government and private loan options please review the guide provided by The Office of the Registrar.
