Visa Requirements
Obtaining a Visa
- Students
going to study in Canada for less than 6
months may not need a study permit.
Citizenship and
Immigration Canada identifies
countries from which a study permit is not
required. Please check for your country.
- Do
not arrive in Canada without a study permit
unless you have permission of the CIC above.
- From
countries where the number of students going
to Canada is very high, such as India and
China, the visa process takes up to 4
months. Exchange students must apply in
sufficient time for this process.
-
Applicants for study permits must be able to
show full funding for the period of study.

you are on a study permit for an

for less than six months without a study
permit as identified above, you may not
be able to work.
