Community Consulting
Projects What is the
Community Consulting Project?
The
Community Consulting Project (CCP) is a program
that matches Honors in Business Administration (HBA)
student-teams with community-based organizations
to undertake pro-bono consulting projects. You
are invited to submit an application for CCP
outlining your organization’s project and how a
team of Ivey consultants can help complete it.
These projects are completed over a six week
period beginning in September and ending in
early November. At the end of the project the
student-teams will present their finding in a
report or presentation that will outline
specific solutions and recommendations to your
business issues. Throughout this period the
student-teams are guided in their research,
analysis, and presentation by consultants from
Accenture (www.accenture.com).
Interested organizations can apply by filling
out the application available
here and sending it to the External CCP
Director, Prashob Menon at
pmenon.hba2010@ivey.ca, by July 31st 2009 at
midnight. Projects can span any business
function within the organization and can cover
multiple issues. All applications will be
thoroughly reviewed and project decisions will
be sent out by August 31st 2009. If you have any
further questions or want more information
contact Prashob Menon
pmenon.hba2010@ivey.ca.

CCP
Selection Criteria: Applications will be reviewed and selected
according to their complexity, strategic
nature, and the level of business expertise
needed. Other criteria include the
availability of your organization’s contact
person to meet with their CCP student-team
on a weekly basis.
Your
organization’s role within CCP: Your organization’s role will include
providing the student-teams access to the
resources necessary to analyze information
and synthesize their findings into a
presentation and/or report. Throughout the
six weeks a contact person within your
organization is expected to be available to
meet with their CCP team on a weekly basis.
This will ensure that your needs are met in
a timely and effective manner.

Other Consulting Projects
There are several
other programs similar to CCP that may interest
your organization:
The Ivey Consulting Project (ICP) is part of the
HBA and MBA curricula and involves larger-scale
projects. Whereas CCP involves approximately
80 – 100 hours of work the ICP involves
approximately 300 hours. This reflects the
increased complexity involved in tackling an ICP
case over a CCP case. Click here (insert link)
for more information regarding the ICP.
Ivey Connects also offers the Community Impact
Challenge (CIC). Similar in nature to the CCP,
the CIC requires a project proposal that can be
completed over a specific time line. There are
two main differences between the two programs:
- CCP is
more strategic whereas CIC is more
tactical
- CCP is
completed over six weeks whereas CIC is
completed over the eight month school
year with help from about 75 students

information regarding the Impact
Challenge.
