
LONDON, ON, November 4, 2009 - Peter Aceto, president and CEO of ING DIRECT Canada - a company that pioneered the concept of online banking, will share details of his career journey and insights on leadership, with students at the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Aceto will speak with undergraduate business students on November 5 at 1:40 p.m. at The University of Western Ontario.
The presentation is part of a two-day conference, the 2009 Ivey Leaders Forum, which is organized by students for students to help them learn about various career paths. Other guests include representatives from PricewaterhouseCoopers, Kraft Canada, Maple Leaf Foods Inc., Siemens Enterprise Communications Inc., Wunderman Canada, Dominion Automobile Association and A.T. Kearney. Catherine Paul-Chowdhury, a management consultant and author, is also participating.
"This is a great opportunity for students to learn about a wide range of careers and the steps people took to get there," said Kristen Holman, Co-Chair of the 2009 HBA Leaders Forum Committee that organized the event. "We're pleased to have guests from diverse fields sharing an insider's perspective and we hope it will pique students' interest and help them to keep an open mind about career options."
As the senior leader of ING DIRECT Canada, Aceto focuses on delivering outstanding customer experience, which is the cornerstone of success for ING DIRECT. He also helps the firm to maintain a simple and efficient business model, working with management to develop strategy, managing risk, return and growth; and building a team to execute the company's vision.
Aceto is a graduate of The University of Western Ontario.
