The New Democratic Party has proposed a plan to implement a $15 minimum wage for workers in federally regulated industries – such as banks, radio and TV and most federal Crown corporations – by 2019.

Assistant Professor Mike Moffatt exposed the flaws in the NDP’s plan by breaking down the real numbers in his op-ed for Canadian Business.

“The specific NDP claim that 100,000 workers will directly see a raise is not supportable by the evidence, with the true number likely being somewhere between one-quarter and one-half that amount,” said Moffatt.
