Cameron Taylor, founder and chief executive officer of OutdoorSmart Inc., (a digital firm that licenses recreational boaters and trains them using animated online videos) is on the hunt for tech-savvy employees to join his team in Peterborough.

Taylor’s struggle, however, lies in recruiting talent in order to strengthen OutdoorSmart’s digital team and help launch its new brand initiative.

Sharon Irwin-Foulon, executive director of career management and corporate recruiting at the Ivey Business School, weighs in on Taylor’s challenge to bring top digital-minded talent to smaller towns like Peterborough.

“If they’re going to invest in someone coming to Peterborough, every single person on the leadership team needs to be committed to that candidate,” said Irwin-Foulon. “This isn’t just about recruiting, it’s about retention.”
