Professor Paul Boothe, Director of the Lawrence National Centre for Policy and Management, is wary of Canada’s ambitious goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30 per cent below the 2005 levels by 2030.

Business news publication Dispatch Tribunal featured the report called “Sharing the Burden”, co-authored by Boothe and Lawrence Centre fellow Felix Boudreault, to illustrate approaches to reducing emissions.

“If you think the answer is we all go to bed and when the sun goes down we only ride bikes, that’s not the answer,” said Boothe. “Our view was there was really no kind of unambiguous way to say one view is better than the other.”
