AHMEDABAD, INDIA, March 9, 2015 The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), India, and the Ivey Business School, Western University, Canada, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to create and distribute business cases that are used as classroom teaching tools in universities around the world. The initial agreement, extending for a period of three years, was signed by Professor Ashish Nanda, Director, IIMA, and Professor Robert Kennedy, Dean, Ivey Business School.

The partnership is an outcome of the dialogue between IIMA’s Case Centre and Ivey Publishing, the case publishing house of Ivey Business School.

“Both the schools have an excellent track record and history of developing quality business cases, nurtured by the environment of research. The coming together of these two global business schools, will ensure that quality Indian case studies are easily accessible for teaching and research the world over. At present, IIMA has more than 3,700 registered cases, which are largely distributed online through IIMA’s website,” said Professor Nanda, Director, IIMA.

The partnership is expected to further solidify Ivey’s position as the leading distributor of Indian business cases. At present, more than 300 universities actively use Ivey’s India case collection in their management and executive education programs to enable their management students understand the complex business challenges of India and the region.

Speaking on the partnership, Robert Kennedy, Dean, Ivey Business School, said, “Ivey is proud of our high-quality collection of Indian business cases and we are excited to partner with IIMA. The partnership is a natural fit for Ivey as IIMA is well-known for producing excellent materials relevant for teaching business decision-making skills and for attracting top-flight student talent to their institution.”

Professors Kennedy and Nanda also discussed additional areas of potential collaboration, including an MBA student exchange program, cooperation on Executive Education programs, and faculty collaboration.
