Ivey PMI rises in January

Director of the Ivey Purchasing Managers Index

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of January 2016 stood at 66.0. The corresponding figure for January 2015 was 45.4 and for January 2014 was 56.8.

The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for January stood at 55.1. Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 61.5, Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 51.1 and Prices were 71.6.

The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of January is 56.7, Employment 49.3, Inventories 57.7, Supplier Deliveries 48.6 and Prices 77.1.

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of December 2015 stood at 49.9. The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for December stood at 59.7. Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 50.8, Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 54.3 and Prices were 61.9.

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?"

A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
