University College

The University moved from Huron College where it had been housed, to University College, one of the first buildings to be completed on the new campus. The largest contribution to the building fund came from Middlesex County for a memorial tower to commemorate the men and women from the County who had lost their lives in the First World War. For the buildings the Board of Governors had decided on Collegiate Gothic style and all were constructed of Credit Valley limestone, quarried near Guelph. It was in the lower floor of this building the department was housed.
