Rick Robertson

Rick Robertson received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration, his MBA, and his Ph.D. from Western. He earned the C.A. designation with the accounting firm that is now known as Ernst & Young. In addition, he has completed the CICA In-depth Tax Course that is designed for practising tax specialists.

Rick teaches in both the Finance and the Management Accounting and Control areas, and has also taught in the personal and corporate tax area. His research interests have focused in the area of accounting for corporate income taxes and the provision of pension benefits by corporations; however, he has recently shifted his focus to personal financial planning.

Rick has taught extensively on professional accounting programs designed to prepare future accountants and has served on several committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO), including being the Chairperson of the Examinations Committee. He has also served five years as an elected member of ICAO's governing council. Rick has consulted for or worked with numerous organizations, including LafargeHolcim, Maple Leaf Foods, BCE, KPMG, Stackpole Limited, and Kinross.
