Ivey Behavioral Lab, Lab Coordinator

Description:

This is a part time (24 hour per week) contract position from September, 2021 to April, 2022.  The position is ideal for a recent graduate who is taking a year to consider graduate opportunities and/or upgrading a course or two. The hours are set per week as Monday to Thursday 12:30pm to 5:30pm and Friday 12:30pm to 4:30pm during the academic term with the possibility of different hours outside of the academic term. Pay is set at $21.70 per hour.

Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of a behavioural discipline (e.g., Psychology, Sociology)
  • Must be able to commit to the scheduled hours without exception
  • Demonstrated background in behavioural methods and design
  • Ethics training certification (TCPS or CITI required to maintain on file)
  • Desire to learn and develop new skills
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently on projects assigned 
  • Able to manage our volunteer members
  • Ability to use Microsoft suite of software, particularly Word, Excel, OneNote, and Teams

Major Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the afternoon shift running the lab
  • Weekly scheduling on SONA
  • Responding to student emails
  • Managing communication with Volunteer Research Assistants
  • Filling in when RAs must be absent
  • Maintaining detailed records of participation, credits, monetary remuneration, cash spreadsheets
  • Training RAs in individual procedures and lab equipment
  • Ensuring lab materials are available for afternoon shift 
  • Maintaining lab protocols and general tidiness

Minor Responsibilities:

  • General RA training
  • Managing class lists in SONA, updating for changes
  • Managing Qualtrics additions to the Paid Pool
  • Advertising campaigns as required
  • Desire to learn and develop new skills
  • Coordinating end of term events
  • Aiding in instrument and protocol production
  • Running off-site survey panels  
  • Managing other special projects as time permits
