EMBA 2012, Ivey Business School
Vice President, Home Financing Solutions
Why did you decide to do an Executive MBA?
To pursue an MBA was a life-long learning and personal development goal - truly a dream come true! I wanted to learn "what I didn't know" and "who I didn't know." After more than 15 years in executive positions at a few different organizations, the opportunity to participate in a graduate program with 55 other professionals, from numerous industries and incredibly diverse backgrounds, was just remarkable. Our shared context began as cohorts in the classroom, evolved to allies in the learning process, and ultimately as advocates for one other - both personally and professionally.
Why did you choose Ivey?
Simply put, Ivey delivers the best and demands the best. Every aspect of the Ivey Executive MBA process fit together like multi-dimensional puzzle: from the professors and administration, to the education and the overall experience. The value and process is both real and intangible, and requires dedication, commitment and faith.
What benefits have you seen so far in your career?
Since graduating, I have had numerous opportunities in several countries, along with excellent recognition within my current organization. However, the benefits I've gained are far beyond my career. I think differently. I ask better questions and have a more holistic way of analyzing problems and assessing opportunities. I believe I've become a better contributor within my organization and to the boards where I serve as a Director. Ultimately, I believe I've become a more effective and influential leader. I have already experienced the power of the Ivey Alumni network as well as the global brand recognition. It's a both a privilege and responsibility to be part of a world-class organization like Ivey.
