The Ivey Business School is proud to present its inaugural undergraduate Business Plan Competition, titled the Spin Master Ivey HBA Business Plan Competition.
The competition is sponsored by Spin Master Toys, an innovative global toy company that was founded in 1994 by Ivey & Western grads Ronnen Harary, Anton Rabie, HBA ’94, and Ben Varadi, HBA ’94.
With a prize pool of over $20,000, the competition is open to undergraduate teams from universities across Canada & the United States and will include a stellar panel of experienced investors and entrepreneurs.
The winning team will receive $15,000 and prizes will also be awarded to the 2nd and 3rd placed teams. Furthermore, the top Social Impact venture will be given an additional award.
How to apply
The 2017 Spin Master - Ivey HBA Business Plan Competition will use rules and guidelines for submissions set out by the Venture Labs Investment Competition (VLIC). For complete information on Eligibility Rules and Submission Requirements, please read the VLIC Official Rules and Submission Requirements. Please disregard any mentions relating to graduate/MBA students as the Spin Master - Ivey HBA Business Plan Competition is open only to undergraduate students.
- Complete our Intent to Compete Form when registration is open
- Submit a 2-page Executive Summary of Business Plan to firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the November deadline.

Teams chosen for the competition will need to provide a completed business plan a week prior to the competition. For more details on the format, read ‘Business Plan Review’ under the VLIC Rules.
