Ivey Health work study student places second in CPA Case Competition

Winners of the 2017 CPA General Management Case Competition

CPA Western

On November 19, 2017, Ivey Health Work Study Student, Amanda Wu, and her colleague, Angus Lai, placed second in the 2017 CPA General Management Case Competition at the Ivey School of Business.

Organized by the Western CPA and Ivey CPA student associations, students were tasked with providing hypothetical recommendations to a pharmaceutical company looking to price a new drug. “The goal of the event was to demonstrate that CPA is not just for accountants. It is something that shows your professionalism, commitment and skills,” says Summer Zhang, a member of the CPA Ontario Board of Ambassadors. The competition welcomed judges from public accounting firms as well as faculty members from Western University.

Both Amanda and Angus are second-year students, and are currently pursuing undergraduate degrees in Health Sciences and BMOS (respectively).

Congratulations Amanda and Angus!
