Profile

Scott recently completed a 32-year career at 3M Canada, spending the last 10 years on the Corporate Strategy team.  In that capacity, Scott lead a diverse set of business development and commercialization projects which spanned 3M’s many divisional portfolios in the Canadian market.  He also facilitated numerous internal and external Strategic Planning sessions across the organization.  Scott was also responsible for managing local efforts in tandem with 3M Ventures (St. Paul, MN), the corporate venturing arm of the company, to identify early-stage companies innovating in technology spaces that are relevant to 3M Company’s R&D priorities.  He also acted as the acting M&A lead for 3M Canada.  Prior to joining the Corporate Strategy Team, Scott held a variety of roles within 3M including Sales, Marketing, & Business Development.  He has had experience in a variety of industries including, Medical, Dental, Mining, Oil & Gas, and Agriculture.  Scott is also a Certified Design for Six Sigma Black Belt (Commercialization Specialist), and in that capacity he led a series of projects for our Health Care and Display & Graphics businesses.

Scott served on the Board of Directors of Alpine Ontario (2014-2016), the Provincial Sports Organization responsible for ski racing in the province.  He has also served as an Executive in Residence (EIR) for the Ivey Field Project initiative for the HBA Program at the Ivey Business School – Western University since 2014, and has guest lectured at Ivey on the topic Innovation and engaging with Corporate VC’s.  Scott is also an advisor to “The Experts” Program at TechAlliance in London offering guidance to early-stage companies in the local tech eco-system.

Scott holds a B.A. in Administrative & Commercial Studies from the University of Western Ontario, and an M.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
