Two months down…

The past two months at Ivey have led me to conclude that we are stuck in a time warp. Every day is jam-packed and intense (does anyone else have trouble in the afternoon remembering what we did in the morning?). Every week feels like a month. It feels like we have known each other forever and have been here for years. But we are just finishing our second month. When I come up for air and reflect on everything we have done and accomplished in this short period of time, I’m truly impressed.

The past two months have been full of case after case, two 24-hour reports, a final exam, a midterm and numerous presentations. We have listened to guest speakers, taken a great Operations fieldtrip, elected our executive team, kicked off our clubs and spent countless hours in Ivey’s many breakout rooms.
As we all take on a new challenge every week and adjust to the ever-changing schedule, course load, and time crunch, I continue to be amazed at our resiliency and dedication not only to the program, but also to each other. From David Schefter taking hours to sit with us in small groups and host “turbo Econ” exam prep sessions, to the Sales & Marketing Club getting us ready for Get Connected with power networking, and even down to the many one-on-one help sessions I see every day here amongst the students, I see that we have already built our Ivey family.

I know we all sometimes have the feeling of looking forward to completing this degree – to getting back to our home cities, to having an income, to not having such an insane schedule – but before we know it, the year will be over. I, for one, want to soak up every moment (the good, the bad, the weird) and make the most out of this year here with everyone because I know that, despite the stress, I am going to miss this when it is over. Congratulations Ivey MBA Class of 2014 on completing your first two months of the program! Keep it up and have a great time at Get Connected next week!
