- Bachelor of Business Administration, Honors in Economics- Finance & Mathematics, HEC Montreal
MSc 2018, Ivey Business School
Being born and raised in France, I quickly realized I enjoyed being challenged and thrown out of my comfort zone. I was already passionate about traveling and learning new languages and aspired to an international business perspective, which led me to study abroad in Canada and pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration in HEC Montreal. Specializing in Finance, Economics and Mathematics, my undergraduate degree set the foundation of my analytical background, while enabling me to pursue my passion for business and deepen my interest for a broad range of competencies such as Marketing, Operations, Business Strategy or Technology.
My undergraduate experience enabled me to get involved in numerous extra-curricular projects and associations — notably within the university’s consulting club, which ended up being a decisive factor in my future professional career path. I also had the opportunity to realize my first exchange in Hong Kong, which completely broadened my mind and opened me to new perspectives and ways of doing business. As I was traveling throughout Asia, I uncovered my desire to pursue my studies in an international context: Ivey’s MSc in International Business appeared to me at the perfect time. Combined with the CEMS double degree, it was the perfect opportunity for me to maintain an international exposure, learning through the fantastic case method, and being surrounded by brilliant classmates and faculty members. I cannot hide my excitement for the new opportunities ahead: after experiencing the business and cultural challenges of working for a small venture in Nicaragua, I will be traveling to Norway for a term abroad at NHH in Bergen.
The Ivey adventure is a constant rush of adrenaline, bubbling with opportunities to stand out or volunteer to new projects within the school community. Before starting the program, I was nervous at the prospect of experiencing the new case learning process, particularly due to the strong emphasis on class participation, which was something new to me. Nevertheless, the positive and constructive classroom atmosphere quickly encouraged me to get fully engaged and give the best of myself. Exposed to innovative ideas from peers with diverse backgrounds and experience, while benefiting from continuous critical feedback, I am convinced this method has enabled me to sharpen my interpersonal communication skills as well as my business decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Upon graduation, I am aiming to pursue an international career in management consulting, combining the analytical competencies I have been developing throughout my studies with the business acumen that initially set me in motion. I have no doubt that Ivey’s life-changing experience will leave me better equipped to make a difference in the corporate world and provide me with the support and resources I need to achieve my professional goals and truly become the global leader I aspire to be.
