Funding Opportunities

NSERC Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) Program

The Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) Program supports the training of highly qualified students and postdoctoral fellows from Canada and abroad through the development of innovative training programs that:

  • encourage collaborative and integrative approaches and address significant scientific challenges associated with Canada’s research priorities; and
  • facilitate the transition of new researchers from trainees to productive employees in the Canadian workforce.

A yearly quota has been established for each university, and only researchers selected at their university can submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) to NSERC. Western has implemented an internal review process to select applications which will be submitted to NSERC.

On A Practical Note...

ROLA (Research On-Line Administration) System

PeopleSoft Financials, of which ROLA is a part, will not be available at 4:30 pm on Friday, March 10th until the morning of Monday, March 13th at 6 am to allow the database to be moved to a new Oracle Exadata System. 

ROLA proposals cannot be created, reviewed or approved during this time. Services will resume Monday morning.
