The PhD Sustainability Academy is an event hosted by the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario and the Alliance for Research on Corporate Sustainability (ARCS), with support from the Network for Business Sustainability.

We rethink sustainability using multiple lenses, push our understanding of systemic problems and enrich our theoretical and empirical analyses of individual, organizational, societal and ecosystem life. ?We welcome submissions on sustainability issues in strategy, policy, economics, entrepreneurship, ethics, environmental studies, international business, organizational theory, organizational behavior and international development. A broad range of methodologies are also welcome, including quantitative methods, qualitative methods and experimental work. In general, it is desirable to include some empirical data.

The PhD Sustainability Academy includes interactive paper development workshops with five guest faculty:

  • Tima Bansal, Ivey Business School, Western University
  • Jennifer Howard-Grenville, Lundquist College of Business, University of Oregon
  • Tom Lyon, Ross School of Business, and School of Natural Resources and Environment, University of Michigan
  • Deborah Rupp, Department of Psychological Sciences, Purdue University
  • Roy Suddaby, Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta

The deadline for submissions is August 31, 2013.

Please include:

  • Blinded manuscript (following the AMJ style guide)
  • Cover-page with author details
  • Two-page executive summary (up to 1000 words)
  • 50-word abstract, a 150-word biography and a recent photo (to be published on the website, if accepted).

All local expenses are covered by the Beryl M. Ivey Fund. Invited participants are responsible for their own travel.
