Event Dates: October 16-19, 2014

The PhD Sustainability Academy is an event hosted by the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario and the Alliance for Research on Corporate Sustainability (ARCS), with support from the Network for Business Sustainability.

We rethink sustainability using multiple lenses, push our understanding of systemic problems and enrich our analyses of individual, organizational, societal and natural systems. We welcome submissions on sustainability issues in strategy, policy, economics, entrepreneurship, ethics, environmental studies, international business, organizational theory, organizational behavior and international development. A broad range of methodologies are also welcome, including quantitative and qualitative methods and experimental work. In general, it is desirable to include some empirical data.

The PhD Sustainability Academy includes interactive paper development workshops with five guest faculty:

  • Oana Branzei, Western University, Ivey Business School
  • Magali Delmas, University of California, Los Angeles, UCLA Anderson School of Management
  • Andy Hargadon, University of California, Davis, UCDavis Graduate School of Management
  • Susan Jackson, Rutgers University, Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations
  • P. Devereaux (Dev) Jennings, University of Alberta, Alberta School of Business
  • Dean Shepherd, Indiana University Bloomington, Kelley School of Business
