Kanina Blanchard has lived and worked around the world in a variety of business leadership and stakeholder relations roles including government and public affairs, trade association management and issues and crisis management.  Kanina is an active guest lecturer and speaker and promoter of mentorship initiatives.

Blanchard is a graduate of Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario (Canada), and holds a Bachelor degree in Journalism and Sociology.  In addition, she has attended executive training at Thunderbird: The American Graduate School of International Management; at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland; and The Prince of Wales's Business and Environment Program.

Kanina Blanchard is President of Opportunity Creation-a management consultancy focused on providing clients with strategic support and developing winning solutions to challenges that represent reputational and bottom-line impact.

Kanina currently manages the London District for the Ministry of the Environment.  Kanina was the Director of Global Issues Management for The Dow Chemical Company between 2006-2009.  Blanchard was based in Horgen, Switzerland from 2002-2006 as  the Public Affairs/Public Policy Director for Hydrocarbons & Energy (HC&E) as well as for Dow's geographic presence in Europe, MidEast, Africa and India.

Blanchard joined the Dow Communications function at the Sarnia (Canada) site in 1989, and moved to headquarters Midland, Michigan in 1995 to assume global responsibility for Employee Communications. After a short-term assignment in Hong Kong, Blanchard returned to Midland and added to her responsibilities efforts to develop the Dow INTRAnet.  In 1997, she assumed responsibility for creating Dow's coordinated external web and ecommerce presence in www.dow.com.  She assumed Public Affairs leadership of Texas Operations in 2000 and for Dow's overall presence in the State following the acquisition of Union Carbide.
