Empowering LGBTQ+ Students and Employees to Succeed
Join Marino Felice (HBA ‘11), Brendan MacArthur-Stevens (HBA ‘11), and other guests for a discussion about inclusion and equality for LGBTQ+ people in academic and corporate settings. The panelists will share their experiences as members of the LGBTQ+ community at Ivey and in the corporate world. The discussion will also focus on strategies for how to be an effective ally to members of the LGBTQ+ community and how to foster an environment in which everyone can succeed, regardless of their background or identity.
Marino Felice is a Senior Manager on PwC's Corporate Valuations team in Sydney Australia. Marino obtained his Chartered Business Valuator Designation and Chartered Professional Accounting Designation while working in PwC's Toronto office before joining the PwC Australia practice in 2018. Marino specialises in the valuation of private infrastructure assets with particular focus on renewable energy projects.
Marino graduated from the Ivey HBA program in 2011. During his time at Western University he was elected President of the HBA Student Association and he also represented the Ivey program on the University Student Council.
Brendan MacArthur-Stevens is a litigation lawyer at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP in Calgary. Brendan is also an Adjunct Professor of Administrative Law at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law. His legal practice focuses on complex commercial disputes and the impact of public law in the commercial realm. Brendan engages in extensive pro bono work for the LGBTQ+ community and was the co-founder of a legal clinic in Calgary dedicated to serving trans clients.
Brendan obtained his HBA from Ivey in 2011 and was elected Valedictorian of his graduating class. He attended law school at the University of Toronto, where he graduated as the recipient of the Dean’s Key and the Bronze Medal. Before joining Blakes, Brendan was a judicial law clerk to the judges of the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and then for the Honourable Justice Karakatsanis of the Supreme Court of Canada.
