In his op-ed for The Globe and Mail, Professor George Athanassakos posed the question: Are markets efficient? The answer: It all comes down to perspective.

Pulling research and expertise from financial specialists, Athanassakos showed how academics and value investors differ, and their common ground, where market efficiency is concerned.

“Are academics that different from, say, value investors? In fact, they are not,” said Athanassakos. “They both believe that markets are efficient in the long run. Where they disagree is whether the market is efficient in the short run.”
