The Toronto Pan Am Games may be a costly endeavour, but it’s worth the high price, said Assistant Professor Shane Wang.

The Financial Post reported on the escalating costs for the Games, including an expenditure of $8.1 million on tent rentals.

Wang said all the money spent on the Games could pay off in the long run.

“It may be a good test for the Olympics,” said Wang. “It is the opportunity cost for the long run. It’s a good showcase to tell people that Toronto is able to do it.”
