Lemonaid

Students will participate in the annual Hunter Straker and Ivey Give LemonAid fundraiser April 9-11. The fundraising challenge is the final event of the HBA1s’ Learning Through Action program. Students use the business and leadership skills learned in class to sell lemonade throughout London and area, while overcoming a challenge created by executives at Hunter Straker. Proceeds go to the United Way’s Innovation Fund.

The 601 students will be divided into 80 teams and given supplies and a unique twist for their groups on April 9. Then, armed with only $50 in seed money, a cardboard lemonade stand they will make themselves, a pitcher, and a set of markers, the students will fan across London to raise as much money as possible in only 48 hours.

The total raised will be announced at a closing ceremony on April 11. Last year the students raised $108,013 for the United Way – the highest total in the three years of the Hunter Straker and Ivey Give LemonAid program.
