The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of March 2014 stood at 55.2. The corresponding figure for March 2013 was 61.6 and for March 2012 was 63.5.
The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for March stood at 49.7. Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 49.2, Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 43.8 and Prices were 72.2.
The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of March is 61.8, Employment 51.0, Inventories 47.5, Supplier Deliveries 46.8 and Prices 76.0.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?"
A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
