Media Advisory: Ivey MBAs giving back to London through Impact Day

Ivey Impact Day

Ivey MBA students at last year's Impact Day

LONDON, ON, July 3, 2014 – Ivey’s MBA students will put the School’s mission into action by donating more than 300 volunteer hours to five London non-profit organizations for Ivey Impact Day on July 7.

The students will help ReForest London care for newly planted trees at a local park, help with restocking and organization of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and perform services such as cleanup, maintenance, and restocking of shelves and inventory at various organizations. Part of the School’s mission is to develop leaders who give back to the societies in which they operate. The annual Impact Day, which is sponsored by RBC Foundation, is one of many ways Ivey students give back to their communities. More than 100 students will participate in the event.

“Impact Day is an opportunity for the MBA students to thank and give back to the community of London. Being mostly new residents, London has welcomed us into the community and we feel fortunate to be able to pay it forward,” said MBA student Sarah Richard, President of the Impact Club. “Whether cleaning, building, or planting, we are thrilled to give back to our new community.”

The MBA students will help ReForest London, The Mission Store, Rotholme Women’s & Family Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, and Unity Project. For specific times, locations, and student contacts, please contact Ivan Langrish, Senior Manager Media Strategy, at ilangrish@ivey.ca, or call 416-203-0664.
