December PMI

Monthly Comment from Professor Michiel R. Leenders,
Director of the Ivey Purchasing Managers Index

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of December 2014 stood at 55.4. The corresponding figure for December 2013 was 46.3 and for December 2012 was 52.8.

The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for December stood at 51.8.  Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 41.7, Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 54.2 and Prices were 54.8.

The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of December is 46.7, Employment 46.6, Inventories 39.8, Supplier Deliveries 48.2 and Prices 51.8.

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?"

A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
