Ivey Pride Club members are part of the LGBT+ Business Student Alliance that will participate in the 2019 Toronto Pride Parade on June 23. About 25 Ivey students who identify as LGBTQ+ and allies will march in the parade.

"We are thrilled to be marching in the Pride Parade along with fellow business students from across Ontario,” said Elliot Kimelman, an HBA ’20 candidate who is Co-President of the Ivey Pride Club, along with fellow HBA student Ashna Thaya. “As future business leaders, we will both represent and work with the LGBT+ community here in Canada and around the world, and are continually striving to lead with a context that is inclusive of all.”

The Toronto Pride Parade is one of the largest Pride parades in North America and is part of Pride Month 2019, which is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and the birth of the LGBTQ2+ movement.

About 200 groups are expected to participate in the parade, including the LGBT+ Business Student Alliance, which was formed to bring LGBT+ business students together from across Ontario's business schools.

The Ivey Pride Club represents LGBTQ+ students in Ivey’s HBA, MBA, MSc, and PhD programs and offers mentoring, networking, and opportunities to engage with corporate partners.
