Instructions for alternative to research participation
You may choose to write a review of a research paper instead of participating in research studies through SONA. Each paper is worth 1.0 credit. For each review choose one of the approved research articles from our behavioural researchers that are available on this page. Read the article carefully. 1) Summarize the background to the problem, 2) the prediction(s) for the study, 3) what results were found, and 4) implications for the work as well as 5) your own evaluation of the research paper.
The review paper needs to be between 500 and 800 words. If the paper contains more than a single experiment or study, choose just one of them for your review.
IF YOU ARE SUBMITTING MORE THAN A SINGLE REVIEW PAPER (I.E., MORE THAN A SINGLE CREDIT) PUT THEM ALL INTO ONE DOCUMENT.
DUE: anytime before April 8th, 2024, 11:55pm.
OWL site is now open and accepting submissions.
Submit your paper to OWL by following these instructions:
1 - Sign in to the OWL portal (owl.uwo.ca)
2 - Go to "Membership"
3 - Choose "Joinable sites" tab at top
4 - Search on the far right for "Alternative to Research Participation 2023-2024"
5 - Submit your research paper review(s) to the Assignment. NOTE: If you are submitting more than one review, make them all one file.

LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED (and excuses based on technology issues are also not accepted so you are encouraged to submit well in advance of the deadline).
All reviews will be submitted to plagiarism detection software, Turnitin. These reviews will not be credited if it is found that the review or its contents are not original to you. Additionally, this information may be sent to your class or course coordinator.
