Why did you decide to do an MBA?

The more I got involved in strategic roles in different industries, the more I realized my interest in evaluating different types of projects in different types of environments with different types of people. This introspective evaluation led me to conclude that if I wanted to be a part of decision-making roles at the strategic-executive level, I needed to improve my knowledge at both the technical and interpersonal levels. Therefore, an MBA was the clear path to follow, and Ivey's demanding one-year program, along with his case-based methodology, were the key features he was looking for.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

That your background does not define your ability to learn new topics every day, if you are really open to trying. The learning team experience, regardless of the course, is enhanced when each member internalizes that and the results nourish everyone.

What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?

The pace at which the program evolves every day constantly takes you out of your comfort zone. By the time you get used to the daily case assignments, the first 24 hour reports arrive, and these are followed by the first Career Management activities, and so on.

What books are on your bedside table AND/OR what podcast are you listing to right now?

The Goal by Eliyahu M. Goldratt (for Managing Operations course)

How do you manage stress (i.e. sports, exercise, meditation etc)?

I do practice something called mindful walking or walking mediation. I learned it from a friend long time ago, and here at London, the long parks give you space to practice it.
