Introduce yourself! Provide a brief summary about you.
I have close to 5 years of work experience working as a management consultant with EY in India. I would typically offer strategic guidance to companies on market expansion strategies and provide support to private equity firms in identifying new investment targets and facilitating the sale of their portfolio companies. I have always believed that a sense of community and uplifting each other is integral to our growth as a society, and that’s why I’ve been involved in multiple community service projects to do my bit. I'm currently mentoring two girls from underprivileged backgrounds in India, assisting them in developing essential communication, computer, and financial literacy skills.
Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I decided to pursue an MBA with the aim of expanding my professional network, gaining exposure to the North American market, honing essential skills, and achieving comprehensive career development. Ivey’s emphasis on experiential learning and leadership development ensures that I will graduate with the practical skills and strategic mindset needed to excel in a competitive business environment.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
Enjoy the journey! Time management is crucial as you basically hit the ground running. Time flies when while you are busy balancing coursework, projects, networking, recruitment, and your personal life. Embracing each step, learning from setbacks, and celebrating achievements along the way has not only made the experience more enjoyable but has also given me memories of a lifetime.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
The generosity and collaborative spirit of the cohort. The level of camaraderie and willingness to support each other's success, whether through study groups, projects, or networking, has exceeded my expectations. These relationships have not only enriched my learning but also opened doors to new opportunities and perspectives. It's been a remarkable and invaluable part of the MBA experience.
