The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of May 2014 stood at 48.2. The corresponding figure for May 2013 was 63.1 and for May 2012 was 60.5.
The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for May stood at 48.0. Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 47.9, Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 48.0 and Prices were 55.1.
The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of May is 52.2, Employment 53.8, Inventories 48.8, Supplier Deliveries 48.8 and Prices 56.9.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?"
A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
