Ivey PMI falls in May

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of May 2016 stood at 49.4. The corresponding figure for May 2015 was 62.3 and for May 2014 was 48.2.

The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for May stood at 49.3. Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 49.6, Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 53.3 and Prices were 63.1.

The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of May is 58.4, Employment 54.5, Inventories 52.3, Supplier Deliveries 54.3 and Prices 64.0.

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of April 2016 stood at 53.1. The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for April stood at 49.9. Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 52.3, Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 46.8 and Prices were 53.9.

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?”

A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
