Ivey Connects: Another successful year in the books

Apr 6, 2016

Noah at Ivey connects 2016 closing event

Last Thursday, March 31st, Ivey Connects celebrated the end of another successful year with their community partners, charitable organizations, and participating students who worked directly with the organizations or led individual charity campaigns raising funds with their peers.

Community partners include Accenture, London Life, Canada Life, The Great-West Life, and the RBC foundation. Representatives from each partner were present at the closing ceremonies to speak about this year’s achievements and the various impacts the Ivey Connects students have had within the local not-for-profit community.

Noah Gropper’s work with Spinal Cord Injury Ontario is an excellent example of a partnership between Ivey Connects and a local London charitable organization.  Noah Gropper, VP Ivey Connects Section 2, worked closely with Spinal Cord Injury Ontario and spread awareness of spinal cord injuries around the Ivey community through various initiatives such as a LinkedIn photo-shoot fundraiser, in class presentations, and blue shirt initiatives.

Ivey Connects is a student-led organization working to inspire students at the Ivey Business School to contribute to the societies in which they operate - a vital aspect of the school's mission statement. Ivey students have a wealth of resources that, if harnessed, translate to great potential to effect positive change in the community. Ivey Connects provides opportunities for students to give their time through volunteerism and fundraising efforts, and their talent - management or otherwise - to those in need in the community.
