Sharon Castelino, EMBA '12 | Moderator

Sharon Castelino is an independent board director and financial services executive currently serving on the City of Toronto Investment Board and as a Senior Advisor at Avondale Private Capital and Charli AI. Based in Toronto, she is recognized for her expertise in governance, risk, and strategic leadership across capital markets, fintech, real estate, and healthcare sectors. Leveraging two decades of governance experience, she advises on Audit, Risk, and M&A strategies. An Ivey Scholar (EMBA ’12) and Osgoode Hall LLM graduate, Sharon is a frequent speaker and instructor on governance, strategy, and risk in public and private markets. She further contributes to the next generation of leadership as a Director-in-Residence at Women Get On Board and a Board Member for the Ivey Alumni Network.
Nadine de Gannes, HBA '09 | Panelist
Assistant Professor, Managerial Accounting and Control, Ivey Business School
Nadine de Gannes is an Assistant Professor in Managerial Accounting and Control, and Sustainability. Nadine is also member of Ivey’s EDI Advisory Council. She holds a Masters and PhD in Accounting from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and an HBA from Ivey Business School. In taking a sociological perspective in both her research and teaching, Nadine explores the interrelationships between accounting, power, and perceptions of worth. For her doctoral research, Nadine studied executive compensation, the rise of executive pay consultants and pay benchmarking practices. Her research interests now encompass the integration of ESG metrics into executive compensation, internal control systems and organizational culture.

Karen Fryday-Field has spent more than 25 years helping Boards, CEOs, and leadership teams strengthen governance effectiveness and strategic thinking. A recognized governance researcher, facilitator, and speaker, Karen works with organizations across Canada and internationally on issues including AI governance, board effectiveness, strategic risk, leadership development, and navigating change. She currently serves as part-time CEO of GOVERN for IMPACT and has coached more than 220 Boards of Directors. Karen is also a 2021 London and Middlesex Business Hall of Fame Laureate and recipient of the 2023 YMCA Women of Excellence Award.
David Robinson, MBA '94 | Panelist
Board Member, Rogers Communications
Mr. Robinson joined Rogers in 1990 and held progressively senior roles over his 30-year career. He served as President and CEO of Rogers Bank from 2015 to 2019, and as SVP of Financial Services from 2014 to 2015, overseeing Rogers Bank, credit card programs, and mobile-payment ventures. As VP of Emerging Businesses (2009–2014), he developed the business plan for Rogers' banking licence. Earlier roles included VP of Business Implementation at the CTO Office, where he co-founded the Inukshuk Wireless Partnership joint venture, and VP of Financial Planning and Investor Relations. Mr. Robinson currently serves on the Rogers Control Trust Advisory Committee, Rogers Bank Board, and Enstream Board. He holds a B.A. (Honours) from Queen's University, an MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University, and an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
