Susan Uchida

Susan is an experienced business and HR leader with a record of success at senior management levels. Susan is a practicing management coach, leveraging knowledge and experiences gained through key HR and business executive roles at the operating committee level in supporting her clients. She retired from RBC in 2022 and established her own firm that is focused on leaders and advancing their success.

Her previous executive roles with RBC included Managing Director and Global Head of HR for RBC Capital Markets, RBC's Global Head of Learning and Development, and VP and Regional US HR for RBC Bank in Raleigh, North Carolina. Susan was accountable for developing and implementing strategies in support of Diversity and Inclusion, talent management and business agile transformations, led the people side of M&A and divestitures, and culture initiatives that strengthened collaboration and employee engagement.

Susan was certified by Columbia University as an executive coach and is a member of the International Coaching Federation. She holds an MBA from Dalhousie University and is an affiliated executive coach with the Ivey Academy, Western University. Previously, she was a regular contributor to Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Business “Creating Game-Changing Change” executive education program. She has served as a board member and Chair of the HR Committee for The Learning Partnership, a Canadian not-for-profit focused on public education.
