Dusya Vera

Dusya Vera is a Professor of Strategy and is the Executive Director at the Ian O. Ihnatowycz Institute for Leadership. Before her 2022 appointment at Ivey Business School, she dedicated two decades to the faculty of the University of Houston’s C.T. Bauer College of Business, specifically within the Department of Management & Leadership.

Dusya’s scholarly pursuits span strategic leadership, leader character, improvisation, and organizational learning. Her contributions have been showcased in esteemed academic and practitioner publications, including the Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Journal of Management, and The Leadership Quarterly, to name a few. Beyond her academic articles, Dusya frequently delivers insights relevant to current practitioners with her writing and research, with her work appearing in Organizational Dynamics and Business Horizons.

She presently serves as an Associate Editor for The Leadership Quarterly and sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies, Journal of Business Research, and Management Learning. Her past editorial affiliations include respected journals like the Academy of Management Review and IEEE Transactions of Engineering Management. Additionally, Dusya is an active member of both the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society.

Dusya’s distinguished teaching career has seen her instructing at various academic levels, from undergraduate to executive, in strategic management and leadership topics. With a rich background in Executive Development, she’s also a recipient of numerous accolades recognizing her excellence in research and service.
