Rob Klassen is the Associate Dean, Faculty Development & Research and a Professor of Operations Management & Sustainability at the Ivey Business School. Since arriving at Ivey in 1995, Rob has taught a range of courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in operations management, technology, service management, and sustainability.
Rob received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an M.B.A. from Western University, and an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. His industrial experience includes working in the consumer products, oil, and steel sectors in the areas of environmental management, and product and process development.
Rob’s consulting has focused on strategy and quality in both the private and public sectors. He has served as a consultant to such organizations as Industry Canada, Dofasco Inc., Correctional Service of Canada, and the U.S. Gas Research Institute. These engagements have focused on the application of sustainability and matching operations strategy to customer demands, including analyzing processes, improving quality and measuring environmental performance.
