Session overview

Join fellow alumni on Friday, October 16th from 2 – 4 p.m. EDT to play the “Predicting Success” simulation. The session will be led by the creators of the simulation, Ivey professors Rob Austin and Dr. Mazi Raz. The session intends to help executives and leaders learn how to assess novel ideas and examine the success trajectory across various stages of a new product launch. Innovation enthusiasts, strategists, marketing gurus, product or service owners, and investment managers benefit from playing the simulation and engaging in the debrief.

As a playing team, you represent a Virtual Reality (VR) hardware company interested in developing commercial applications of its new VR technology platform. To that end, you have been given a fund for investing in the development and marketing of VR applications. Your investment in a particular VR application will encourage that company to develop its application so that it is compatible with your hardware platform and to feature its compatibility with your platform in marketing their application. Of course, to make the best use of your investment fund, you want to invest in projects/applications that you predict are destined for success in the marketplace. For the session, you have the option of creating your own team of five participants or we will place you on a team with fellow alumni - please indicate your preference when completing the registration form.
