Dean, Ivey Business School

Julian Birkinshaw is the Dean of Ivey Business School, returning to his alma mater where he earned his MBA and PhD. A leading expert in strategy, innovation, and digital transformation, he previously served as Vice-Dean at London Business School. Birkinshaw is the author of 15+ books and a Fellow of several global academic societies. Now at Ivey, he’s focused on strengthening the school’s global reach and preparing leaders for a disruptive, tech-driven world.

Head of the Civil Service College

Mr. KWOK began his government service in 1987, first as an Immigration Officer and later as an Air Traffic Controller at Kai Tak Airport. He joined the Hong Kong Police in 1990 as an Inspector, graduating top of his Intake with all three awards of Brian Slevin Trophy, Baton of Honour and Commissioner’s Certificate of Academic Merit.

In his 32-year-long police career Mr. KWOK developed an expertise in different fields including organised crime and money laundering investigations, police training, Regional and District operational command, and management services. He became the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Management) in March 2019, and retired in this capacity in 2022. Mr. KWOK rejoined the Civil Service in July 2022 as the Head of the Civil Service College, HKSAR.

Mr. KWOK has received training at various prestigious Mainland and overseas institutions, including the China Executive Leadership Academy in Pudong, Shanghai; Tsinghua University, Beijing; National Academy of Governance, Beijing; Bramshill Police Staff College, UK; Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore; Harvard Kennedy School of Government; and Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS), UK, of which he has been a member since 2010. He specialises in Grand Strategy and China’s Foreign Policy. For his interventions and advocacy of the Eastern strategic culture during his year at RCDS, Mr. KWOK became the proud winner of two top awards, including the “AFCEA Award for Strategic Leadership” in competition with 90 international members of Brigadier General rank or equivalent from 45 countries. He holds a Master’s degree in International Security and Strategy granted by King’s College London.

Chief People Officer, Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group

Theresa plays an active role in Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group’s transformation journey. She brings extensive regional HR knowledge and experience to the Group’s People and Culture transformation. With over 20 years of experience, she is an accomplished and seasoned HR professional. Prior to joining the Group, Theresa held several senior HR leadership positions in the retail industry. She was previously the Asia Pacific HR Vice President at Pandora Jewellery, where she led global restructuring and change management, and the Asia Pacific Director of HR Operations at Burberry, where she spearheaded organisational design and operational excellence projects.

In addition to her professional achievements, Theresa is passionate about social affairs. She currently serves as Vice President of The Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management, dedicating herself to enhancing professional human resource management standards. Furthermore, she is a volunteer mentor for the “Strive and Rise Programme,” led by an interdepartmental task force under The Chief Secretary for Administration, where she uses her life experiences to inspire mentees in their pursuit of personal goals with a proactive and positive mindset.

Michael Yue

Managing Director & General Manager | Google Hong Kong

Michael is the Managing Director and General Manager of Google Hong Kong, overseeing strategy and market operations in Hong Kong.

Since joining Google in 2011, Michael has held key leadership roles in sales and strategic partnerships. Notably, he spearheaded the launch of Google Pay across the Asia Pacific region and has been instrumental in driving digital transformation for partners across diverse sectors. In 2018, he was appointed Google's global head of sales strategy and enablement, tasked with developing and growing the advertising sales force.
Michael serves on the boards of the American and Canadian Chambers of Commerce in Hong Kong and the Advisory Board for Information Systems Programs at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School, drawing on over two decades of experience in the technology field.

Before Google, he was with Hewlett Packard and contributed significantly to its growth in Canada. Michael holds an Executive MBA from the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA program and an Honours Business Administration (HBA) from Ivey Business School in Canada.
