This five-week cohort-based course is designed to guide you through the strategic, organizational, and cultural dimensions of digital transformation. Each week builds toward a final strategic plan, where you’ll apply the frameworks and insights to your own organization or a case of your choosing.

You’ll engage through weekly virtual Learning Manager led live sessions, collaborative activities, and a final project. Enrollment closes two weeks before the start date, with access beginning seven days prior to the start of the course. Spots are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dean, Ivey Business School

Julian Birkinshaw became Dean of Ivey Business School on August 1, 2024. An Ivey graduate (MBA ’91, PhD ’95), Birkinshaw is an internationally renowned scholar in business research and education with expertise on innovation, digital transformation, and the agility of large multinational firms.

Prior to joining Ivey, Birkinshaw was at London Business School (LBS) for 25 years, most recently serving as Vice Dean from 2022 to 2024. While at LBS, he also served as Deputy Dean, Executive Education, Head of Learning Innovation, Director of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Deputy Dean of Programs. With a passion for innovation and continuous improvement, Birkinshaw was instrumental in launching new graduate programs, initiating online asynchronous programs, and significantly growing executive education.

A dedicated educator, Birkinshaw has taught many courses in the LBS MBA program, including Innovation and Technology StrategyManaging the Digital OrganizationAchieving Strategic Agility, and Developing Entrepreneurial Opportunities. He has also been actively involved in executive education, leading courses on Building Organizational ResilienceInnovating in the Digital World, and Managing the Company of the Future.     • Cancellation: You will receive a full refund of the program fee.
    • Transfer to a Later Date: No fees apply.
  2. Less than 30 Days Before Program Start
    • Cancellation: Incurs a 25% cancellation fee.
    • Transfer to a Later Date: Incurs a 15% transfer fee.
  3. Compassionate exceptions: Fees may be waived on compassionate grounds, please contract (Operations email).
  4. Unredeemed transfers: If not used within 12 months, the full program fee is forfeited.

Cohort Course Structure and Experience

This is a cohort-based, five-week online course with weekly modules, virtual live sessions, and peer collaboration. The course will be run by a Learning Manager that you can contact with questions. You’ll complete a final project based on everything you learned.

For Cohort courses access will begin seven days prior to the start of the course and conclude 90 days following the date of access.
