Edna Lopez Avila is Professor of Finance. Edna's research focuses on information economics, investment strategies, derivatives, and asset management. Edna studies how information shapes investors’ decision-making and contributes to asset price efficiency. In particular, Edna analyzes unstructured data, such as social media, to understand their influence on the investment strategies of retail investors in the equity and options markets. Edna also examines the resulting implications for investor wealth and stock price dynamics.
