Grant Fraser

Lecturer, Entrepreneurship

A proud Ivey graduate, Grant Fraser has been an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) since 2011 and Faculty Supervisor (FS) since 2022 having taught both the Ivey Field and New Venture projects in the HBA program.

A successful entrepreneur, Grant has founded and sold numerous businesses over the past 30 years. He began his career as an account manager with the Bank of Montreal and Royal Bank of Canada before entering the golf industry.

In 1995, Grant launched Ontario’s first Professional Golf Management (PGM) program at Humber College and was named the college’s “Innovator of the Year.” In 1999, with support from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and ClubLink Corporation, he launched the Golf Management Institute of Canada (GMIC), Canada’s first and only online golf management program. While developing the GMIC, Grant also established the PGM program at Niagara College, which welcomed its first students in 2000.

Today, the GMIC is offered in partnership with McMaster University’s Centre for Continuing Education and remains Canada’s only online golf program delivered by a Canadian university.

In addition to teaching at Ivey, Grant has shared his expertise internationally, including in China and the U.S. He has also contributed to golf media as an award-winning writer and photographer for Flagstick Magazine, and as a panelist for top-course rankings. A dedicated industry leader, Grant has served as president of the Golf Journalists Association of Canada and the Travel Media Association of Canada, and as a board member of the Canadian Junior Golf Association and Hamilton/Halton Junior Golf Tour. He has also volunteered on numerous committees for Golf Canada, the PGA of Canada, and Golf Ontario.

Grant currently works with Golf Canada as Project Manager, Home for Canadian Golf, supporting the relocation of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame and the construction of Golf Canada’s new national headquarters at TPC Toronto Osprey Valley.

In recognition of his work as an educator and his impact on the current generation of golf industry professionals, Grant was named an Honorary Director of the PGA of Canada in 2019.

In 2025, Grant was inducted into the Ontario Golf Hall of Fame as a builder of the game in Ontario and across Canada.
